Background

Steven Fletcher, Managing Director at GCA, is the Head of the Software Group and Co-Head of the Digital Media Group, as well as a member of The Management Committee. He joined GCA from Goldman Sachs in 2003. With over 20 years of investment banking experience, Steve has advised on more than 200 M&A and financing transactions. More specifically in his role at the firm, he works with a range of digital media, software and traditional media clients on M&A, strategic advisory and private capital transactions.

In addition, Steve is the co-founder, executive and Representative Director of Amplia a subsidiary of GCA. Amplia supports US media and technology companies’ entry into the Asian market.

Prior to joining GCA, Steve worked in the investment banking division at Goldman Sachs for nine years. While there, he held several leadership roles including Head of IT Services Banking, Head of Systems and Storage Banking, and head of the Private Placement Group. Over the course of his career, Steve’s clients in the Digital Media and Software sectors have included Brightroll, CMGI, DeNA, Federated Media, Interclick, Pubmatic, Pure Digital, Reach Local and TiVo, among many others. Other tech clients have included HP, EMC, Cap Gemini and Accenture; his Consumer & Retail clients have included Gap, Safeway, Continental Airlines and PepsiCo. He has completed transactions with buyers such as 21st Century Fox (FKA News Corp), Amazon, Google, Nokia, Yahoo! and number of others.

Before entering investment banking, Steve worked for three years at Deloitte & Touche as a CPA. He earned a BA in Economics from University of California Los Angeles and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. In addition, he is the alumni representative on the Board of Trustees and the President of the Alumni Council of the Branson School, on the Board of Directors of venture-backed AtVenu and is involved with a number of charitable organizations.
