Charlie Stocks Joins GCA Advisors as Managing Director

Seasoned M&A and Corporate Development Professional to Oversee Technology-Enabled Services Coverage

GCA Advisors, the US business of global investment bank GCA, announces that Charlie Stocks has joined the firm as Managing Director based in New York. Charlie will oversee the firm’s technology-enabled services M&A coverage, utilizing his 24 years of investment banking and corporate development experience.

Charlie joins GCA from Jefferies, where he provided M&A advisory services for the tech-enabled services sector, working primarily with IT, legal and insurance outsourcing; marketing and media services; and data and information companies. Previously, he held roles in global media corporate development at Reuters and in technology, media and telecom investment banking at Goldman Sachs.

“We are excited to have a banker of Charlie’s caliber, experience and track record join GCA,” stated John F. Lambros, President of GCA Advisors and GCA Board Member. “His two-and-a-half decades of financial advisory and corporate development experience—including acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, LBOs, mergers, raid defense, sales, strategic alternatives and take-privates—will be highly beneficial to our clients with complex M&A advisory needs.”

Geoff Baldwin, GCA Advisors’ Co-CEO, Head of Mergers & Acquisitions and GCA Board Member, added: “Charlie’s in-depth knowledge of the tech-enabled services sector, which includes significant experience working across the industry’s multiple subsectors, will be invaluable as ongoing consolidation from both strategic buyers and financial sponsors continues to drive M&A activity in the space.”

Though the technology sector has always been a key segment for GCA, the firm has seen an increasing number of technology-related services transactions. Over the past three years, fifteen percent of the firm’s transactions globally involved the tech-related services sector. Notable transactions include General Atlantic’s sale of ControlExpert to Allianz, Dataxu’s sale to Roku, CrowdTwist’s sale to Oracle, RPX’s sale to HGGC, Adaptly’s sale to Accenture and Acronis’ Series C financing led by Goldman Sachs Private Capital.

Charlie graduated from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Economics, with a concentration in Finance. He can be reached at .
