GCA Opens Paris Office, Expands Firm’s Global Footprint to 19 Locations Across America, Asia and Europe
Hugues Archambault Joins Firm to Oversee French Operations
GCA, a global investment bank that provides strategic M&A and capital markets advisory services, has announced today that it is opening a subsidiary in Paris under the leadership of Hugues Archambault. The Paris office represents GCA’s 19th office location globally, and its fourth new office to open in 2018, following Ho Chi Minh City, Nagoya and Taipei earlier this year.
The launch of GCA’s French operations is part of the firm’s geographic expansion strategy, which is focused on establishing a strong presence in markets with significant corporate ecosystems and transaction dynamics. With numerous global leaders, high-growth companies and a substantial financial sponsor community, France is among these key markets. GCA will bring its global platform, deep sector expertise and expansive network to help clients transact in and out of France.
The Paris office will be led by Hugues Archambault, who joins GCA with 20 years of investment banking and M&A experience. Most recently, Hugues was Founding Partner of M&A advisory firm The Bridge Corporate Finance where he primarily advised on cross-border transactions in the automotive aftermarket. His prior career experience includes roles at goetzpartners, Pall Mall Capital, SEB Enskilda and BNP Paribas. Hugues has completed over 40 corporate finance transactions in a variety of sectors with a particular emphasis on Media, Technology and Automotive— an excellent fit with GCA’s growth-sector focus.
Hugues will establish a team in France with a focus on providing mid-market M&A and funding advisory services to large corporations, fast-growing SMEs and leading financial sponsors. GCA has recently transacted with renowned French clients and counterparties including AccorHotels, Ardian, Argos Wityu, Astorg, Kering and Valeo.
Hugues Archambault commented: “I am thrilled to join GCA, a truly international investment bank with an entrepreneurial model. We will combine the firm’s expert sector knowledge and balanced international presence with our deep local networks and hands-on deal execution to provide high-quality financial advisory services to the French market on both domestic and cross-border transactions.”
John Lambros, President of GCA’s US business, added: “We are excited to welcome Hugues to the greater GCA team. As our mandates increasingly call for access to deep local networks in key markets around the globe, we have no doubt this expansion will benefit a number of our clients, from strategics to growth companies to financial sponsors.”
GCA has successfully advised on a number of landmark US-European cross-border transactions in 2018, including global mobility company Aptiv on its acquisition of Winchester Interconnect, contextual intelligence platform Grapeshot on its sale to Oracle, and luxury online travel site Tablet on its sale to Michelin.
